Faux For Snow
The holidays may be over but winter is really just beginning and months of frigid temperatures still await many of us. So why not fend off the sleet, fog, slush and frosty air by wrapping up in the cozy comfort of a little faux fur.
This trend continues to gain momentum and you can hardly look out your window or stand on a street corner without spotting teddy bear jackets and furry pom pom adorned bobble hats. From purse poufs to fur trimmed boots the possibilities for ways to wear this trend are endless.
Whether you want to go for subtle hints or head to toe trappings there’s a way for everyone to rock this style.
Here are some of the ways I personally like to incorporate the trend in my wardrobe during the frosty season.
First up is this classic fur collared coat from ASOS (Similar: http://bit.ly/2lazkOk and http://bit.ly/2E0yHPk and Women’s Eliza J Faux Persian Lamb Coat, Size Small – White ).
You can definitely dress this up or down and it’s a great staple piece for a multitude of occasions. Toss it on with jeans and boots to do some damage in the mall or meet your friends for coffee; then wear it over a dress on your way to evening cocktails or a winter party. Whatever your chilly weather outing this coat is sure to be a perfect fit.
For a little more drama, try a faux fur vest (Similar: Women’s Bb Dakota Elvan Open Front Faux Fur Vest, Size Small – White and http://bit.ly/2BMqWLc and http://bit.ly/2pMaHMP).
This one happens to be extra thick and despite the fact that it has no sleeves its plush material keeps you nice and toasty. Throw it on over a thick cable knit or a plush sweater dress and it’ll be the only outside layer you need to bundle up in.
Finally, for your more rustic outings, pile on a fluff topped toque (Similar: http://bit.ly/2Cg6mXm and Women’s Eugenia Kim Mimi Beanie With Genuine Fox Fur Pompoms – Beige) and fur lined boots (Actual: http://bit.ly/2BPesCw Similar: Women’s Hunter Original Insulated Boot and Women’s Sorel ‘Tofino Ii’ Faux Fur Lined Waterproof Boot, Size 6.5 M – Brown) that you can play outside all day in.
This oh-so-warm hat comes from Vera New York and appealed to me primarily because of its oversized pom pom – what can I say, it’s the simple things!
These Steve Madden boots have been my absolute most worn for dog walks and yard work and trips to the grocery store. They’re so easy to slide in and out of and so cozy warm that I find myself reaching for them again and again.
I hope you gain a little cold weather inspiration from these looks and maybe find a way to expand your own faux fur wardrobe. Bundle up this January and be sure to enjoy all the beauty that comes with fresh snowfalls, frost glazed windowpanes and sparkling ice!
